Flow

A quiet place for your opportunities

Notice what pulls you.
Commit to what matters.

Ideas, invitations, side projects, people you'd like to work with: they show up all the time, and most slip away. Flow keeps them next to the goals they serve, so you can see which ones excite you most and decide, calmly, which to commit to.

How it works

  1. 1

    Name your goals

What you're working toward: a book, a healthier year, a living from your craft. Each opportunity belongs to one.

  2. 2

    Note what shows up

Write it down in a line. Rate how much it excites you and how close it is to the goal, and name the values it speaks to.

  3. 3

    Decide, then act

Move it from noticed to exploring to committed, and keep a short log of what you did about it.

What Flow doesn't do

Two ways to use it

Hosted

Sign up here at flow.humantech.ch and start in a minute. Nothing to install or maintain.

  • Works in any browser, on your phone and your computer
  • Email confirmation and password reset
  • Delete your account, with everything in it, any time

Run it yourself

Free, on your own server. Your data never leaves it: one SQLite file in one Docker volume.

  1. Download compose.yaml into a folder on a server with Docker.
  2. Run docker compose up -d.
  3. Put HTTPS in front of it (Tailscale or your reverse proxy) and open it. The first account is yours.
mkdir flow && cd flow
curl -O https://flow.humantech.ch/compose.yaml
docker compose up -d

Updates: docker compose pull && docker compose up -d. Email, sign-ups and the address go in a .env file; the comments in compose.yaml list them.

Flow for iPhone

The same Flow in a native app, for whatever shows up when you're away from your desk. It connects to the hosted Flow or to your own server.
